Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Technical Architect to provide technical insight for our e-commerce clients with particular focus on the retail and consumer packaged good industries. Both a client facing consultant and technical specialist, the Technical Architect ensures the client's infrastructure is solid and sustainable while having the ability to adapt to changing needs and technological advances. While approximately half the time is spent solving technical challenges, there is still a sizeable contribution to technical planning and pitch work. As a result, the successful candidate must be adept at managing their time and prioritizing the needs of clients and staff.
Job Responsibilities
A Technical Architect is able to make project and technical decisions in the context of the organization as a whole and is able to develop solutions that have a positive impact beyond the scope of current projects. They are positioned with clients as a thought leader and business partner and through their advanced technical knowledge are able to push the boundaries when developing complex technical solutions. They are recognized for their effective team leadership and for innovation. Additional responsibilities include:
- Consistently lead a team towards delivering technical solutions that are in line with clients' objectives and meet Zemoga's high standards; deliver on time and on budget.
- During the planning and design phase, work collaboratively with team members to come up with comprehensive and viable designs and estimates that produce value for clients.
- Apply knowledge of relevant technologies, analysis tools, operating systems, communication protocols, databases and data modeling to projects.
- Apply knowledge of programming paradigms / standards and when appropriate develop reusable components that positively impact future projects.
- Produces comprehensive and accurate documentation including the Technical Architecture Document
- Participate in client pitches and proposals and communicate with clients about key technical issues throughout the duration of projects and about the strategic direction for their organization.
- Act as a leader in internal teams including conducting code reviews, post project analysis and clearly articulating throughout the duration of projects what is important to the project's success, the priority of requirements and other key messages.
- Develops and drives the technical architecture of large, complex engagements
- Raises awareness of new technologies and methodologies within the Zemoga technical team. Mentors developers and others on the adoption of these technologies.
- Participate in Zemoga's internal activities
- Other related duties as needed
